Design Project TU/e - Project 2 'Social Interaction with Shared Systems ' squad

In Collaboration with Niek van den Berk, Nick Buhling & Alice Sibiescu

The concept Stapes is a shared interactive activity planning system designed for a travelers hostel context, a form of shared living that is becoming more and more popular and relevant due to global population growth and urbanization. It focuses on building activities together by using multiple tangible building blocks with various functions onto a central pillar preferably positioned in a shared living space. Through interaction, hostel guests can acquire certain social information from the system and, based on this social information, change their behavior and decisions in the process of planning or joining an activity.
